"Miles Abernethy came from Virginia in June 1768. He married a widow. Sarah Ann Goode Whose maiden was Sarah Ann Jones." [Written by John Connelly Fite (Fichte) in his family record under the heading "John C Fites Maternal Great Grand Father." Copy from John Sammons, descendent.]

The family records of John Connelly Fite further state that Sarah Ann Jones Goode had two children by her first marriage when she married Miles Abernethy, but they died young.
