2050. ROGER TILGHMAN was born in 1641 in Charles City, VA. He died in 1704 in Prince Co., VA. The Land Office records of Richmond, VA show that on April 20, 1689,
Roger Ti llman received patent to 1,060 acres located in Bristol Parish,
Charles City Co., VA, from Nathaniel Bacon, President of the Council,
for the transportati on of 22 persons into the Colony. This settlement,
known as Fort Tillman, was located on the south side of the Appomattox
River at a place called "Moneusa -Nock" (Monk's Neck), "beginning at ye
mouth of ye Great Branch and runneth u p that branch, being nigh (near)
the line of Thomas Lee: crossing Moneus-a-No ck main creek, thence to
Gravelly Run." It is believed that the present locat ion of this settlement
would be in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.

Note: Roge r left a journal which passed on to his first-born son Robert. Whyhe changed th e spelling of his name is not known. The land office atRichmond, VA, shows that on April 20, 1689 Roger received patent to 1060acres ;pcated om Bristol Parish , Charles City Co, VA, from NathanielBacon, President of the Council. ROGER TILGHMAN and SUSANNAH HUNT PARKHAM were married in 1680 in Prince George Co., VA.

2051. SUSANNAH HUNT PARKHAM was born in 1648 in Prince George or Surry Co., VA. She died on 2 Mar 1716/17 in Prince George Co., VA. Prince George Co., VA Deeds 1713-1728, pg. 144

Executor Ro bert Abernethy, Jr. Also mentioned was the land granted to Roger Tillman, April 20, 1689, 1069 acres in Charles City Co., on South side of Appomattox River. A fter the above named people received their inheritances, Robert Abernathy, Jr. received the remainder of her estate." Children were:
